Applied AI Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Assist in the design and development of workflows for AI agents and components powered by LLM applications.

• Create and evaluate prompt strategies, retrieval processes, tool usage logic, orchestration patterns, and backend integrations.

• Help define evaluation metrics, conduct benchmarks, and analyze instances of failure.

• Enhance system performance in terms of quality, latency, reliability, safety, and cost-efficiency.

• Utilize AI coding tools as a standard part of your workflow to expedite development and troubleshooting.

• Work collaboratively with engineers and cross-functional teams to grasp the design, deployment, and enhancement of production AI systems.

• Provide contributions to backend services, APIs, internal tools, or simple user interfaces as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related discipline.

• Anticipated graduation in 2026 or 2027.

• Proficient in programming with Python or Java; knowledge of backend engineering is advantageous.

• Strong problem-solving skills and comfort with APIs, debugging, and data manipulation.

• A keen interest in LLMs, AI agents, automation, and practical system design.

• Capable of decomposing ambiguous problems and transitioning from concepts to functional prototypes.

• Quick to learn and thrive in a dynamic environment.

• Available for a full-time commitment of 6 months.

• Involvement in personal projects or coursework that includes LLM applications, agent systems, automation, or AI-assisted development.

• Familiarity with OpenAI APIs, Anthropic APIs, Hugging Face, LangChain, vector databases, or workflow tools.

• Experience with Git, databases, backend services, or cloud computing platforms.
