Applications Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Utilize in-depth knowledge and expertise of product lines to convert customer requirements into appropriate product selections.

• Innovate new or adapted testing methodologies to attract new clientele or penetrate emerging markets.

• Develop product application presentations, white papers, and technical marketing documentation.

• Perform tests in a laboratory setting to showcase product capabilities or produce experimental findings.

• Offer technical consulting and training on product applications to both customers and internal teams.

• Collaborate with Engineering to analyze customer product failures, create related failure reports, and communicate analysis and recommendations to clients.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in science and engineering is required; a master’s degree or PhD in polymer science, polymer engineering, rubber technology, or polymer rheology is highly preferred.

• At least 2 years of experience in polymer rheology is required.

• Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with rheometers is required.

• Familiarity with rubber testing equipment is advantageous.

• Experience in rubber or composite manufacturing, coupled with robust hands-on data analysis skills, is strongly preferred.

• Proficiency in English and Japanese is essential.

• Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.

• Proven track record of managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.

• Demonstrated ability in designing, analyzing, and presenting experimental data effectively.

• Strong experience in structured problem-solving.

• Capacity to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and research papers.

• Ability to convey intricate technical concepts to diverse audiences, both internally and externally, through written reports, lectures, and technical presentations.
