
Application Support Engineer – Simulation Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.
• Take full ownership and ensure operational follow-up of simulation tools (such as Ansys, Aspen Engineering Suite, StarCCM, JMP, Minitab, Arena, @Risk, and others).
• Offer advanced functional support to users, addressing issues related to application, server, and database interactions.
• Evaluate, test, and document the installation processes of complex software within end-user environments.
• Oversee and track software deployments, including inventory management, monitoring, and CMDB updates.
• Coordinate software upgrades and large-scale deployments of new version releases.
• Collaborate with the Service Desk to support and assess end-user requests.
• Manage level 2 and level 3 incidents utilizing a ticketing system (for example, Helix).
• Administer critical incidents and manage escalations effectively.
• Monitor application stability and track license usage.
• Collaborate with software vendors and internal teams to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Contribute to projects concerning industrial constraints, security, compliance, and application governance.
• Possess 3 to 7 years of experience in Application Support or comparable technical positions.
• Have experience in supporting technical or scientific applications, preferably simulation tools.
• Demonstrate knowledge of Windows environments, software deployment, and licensing principles.
• Exhibit strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
• Display effective communication skills and a user-centered approach.
• Be fluent in technical English, both written and spoken.
