Application Support Engineer – Service Reliability Engineering

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Design and oversee robust infrastructure solutions to guarantee the reliability and scalability of essential systems.

• Proactively monitor system performance using metrics and automated tools to identify and resolve potential issues.

• Lead incident management initiatives during service interruptions, ensuring rapid resolution and minimal downtime.

• Investigate root causes of system failures and implement enduring solutions to bolster system reliability.

• Create scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks, enhancing operational efficiency and minimizing manual interventions.

• Collaborate with development teams to align on reliability objectives and incorporate best practices into software design and deployment.

• Maintain thorough system documentation to facilitate efficient troubleshooting and knowledge sharing.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in managing and sustaining highly-available systems, including cloud-based infrastructure.

• Proficient in programming for task automation to lessen manual effort.

• Strong understanding of monitoring tools, incident management systems, and metrics analysis.

• In-depth knowledge of system performance optimization, troubleshooting techniques, cloud platforms, databases, CI/CD, distributed systems, and security best practices.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal) to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

• Analytical mindset for interpreting data, metrics, and patterns to make informed decisions and foresee potential issues.

• Ability to view interconnected systems from a holistic perspective, anticipating the wider impact of changes and designing for resilience.
