This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.
• Deliver expert-level remote management, administration, and support for Production and Demo trading exchange environments to ensure system availability and application stability.
• Carry out and oversee daily operational processes, including contract scheduling, settlement of expired contracts, and end-of-day/start-of-day activities.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and facilitate the resolution of production incidents. Adhere to established escalation procedures and contribute to root cause analysis and post-incident evaluations.
• Monitor application and system performance, identify bottlenecks, and apply tuning recommendations to sustain optimal exchange operations.
• Assist with version upgrades, deployments, and release validations in collaboration with Development and QA teams.
• Maintain and revise runbooks, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational documentation. Ensure smooth shift transitions with clear status updates.
• Engage in the investigation, implementation, and management of tools and scripts to automate, streamline, and continuously enhance operational workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Development, QA, Infrastructure, and partner teams to resolve cross-functional challenges and support critical business initiatives.
• Monitor various partner channels, covering FCMs, TSPs, and Market Makers, while efficiently responding to queries raised in Slack or Teams.
• Over 5 years of experience managing or supporting mission-critical production software applications.
• Strong working knowledge of Linux server operating systems.
• Proficient in scripting and automation with Bash and/or Python.
• Hands-on experience with SQL and relational databases.
• Proven incident management and technical troubleshooting abilities.
• Solid understanding of escalation procedures and SLA-driven environments.
• Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive, ownership-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends on occasion.
• Preferred Qualifications
• Background in financial services, fintech, or regulated exchange environments.
• Familiarity with options and futures trading markets.
• Knowledge or experience in prediction markets and sports.
• Experience with the FIX protocol and trading system applications.
• Knowledge of monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Zabbix, Splunk, and Logic Monitor.
• Experience with messaging and middleware systems like Kafka, AMQ, and Tomcat.
• Understanding of high availability systems and clusters.
• Hands-on experience with AWS (EC2, CloudWatch, S3, etc.).
• Familiarity with change and release management processes.
• Exposure to SFTP/file transfer workflows and monitoring.
