Application Scientist, Clinical Genomics

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Serve as the technical “closer” by providing expert demonstrations that connect clinical requirements with VarSome Premium and Clinical.

• Facilitate onboarding sessions for geneticists and bioinformaticians to ensure a swift “time to value”.

• Optimize filtering strategies and automation to enhance platform “stickiness”.

• Collect feedback from power users systematically to shape the product roadmap and foster strategic partnerships.

• Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure product-market alignment and growth.

⛳️ Requirements

• Education: A Master’s or PhD in Human Genetics, Laboratory Medicine, Molecular Biology/Pathology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline.

• Expertise: Practical experience in clinical genomics workflows, including NGS library preparation, sequencing, and secondary and/or tertiary analysis within a clinical environment.

• Technical Knowledge: A robust understanding of variant classification frameworks along with extensive knowledge of NGS workflows.

• Languages: Fluent in Spanish, with a strong proficiency in English.

• Highly Valued Clinical Experience: Prior experience in a hospital or private laboratory setting interpreting NGS patient cases.

• Regulatory Knowledge: Experience working in regulated environments, such as IVDR, CLIA/CAP, or equivalent standards.

• Global Mindset: Demonstrated experience in multicultural settings and/or assisting international clients in a scale-up context.
