Manager of Clinical Trial Managers II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Manage the performance of direct reports, which includes gathering stakeholder feedback, conducting and documenting performance discussions, establishing clear and measurable objectives, providing updates on goal progress, and fulfilling other HR-related business requirements.

• Offer SMAs opportunities for professional advancement and facilitate their growth into future leadership positions through mentoring, customized development plans (for AbbVie employees), and providing challenging opportunities.

• Ensure business continuity and adapt to shifting needs and organizational deliverables across the portfolio through effective, flexible, and strategic resource management that encompasses both short- and long-term demand, evolving geographic requirements, all aspects of vacancy management, and individual growth and development.

• Promote awareness and compliance among direct reports with corporate and divisional policies and procedures in accordance with global regulations and guidelines by encouraging timely completion and reinforcing the expectations for required training.

• Assist in the creation of Quality Systems Documents (QSDs) and the training curriculum for roles within SMAO.

• Build and sustain relationships with direct reports and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to support the implementation of ambitious execution strategies and achieve results across study teams.

• Contribute to organizational efficiencies, process enhancements, and best practices by participating in SMAO/CSL/CDO workstreams and initiatives.

• Provide mentorship to peer SMAO Line Managers, as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree is required, preferably in a health care or scientific discipline.

• A minimum of 8 years of clinical research experience, including over 6 years in relevant study operations management and people management roles.

• At least 3 years of direct people management experience.

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence others, communicate clearly and persuasively, build trust, lead while respectfully challenging, and forge strong relationships with stakeholders in a cross-functional, global, remote/virtual team environment.

• Proven success in coaching and mentoring, whether directly or in a matrixed setting.

• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities, with a knack for evaluating complex issues from various perspectives and making informed decisions.

• Capacity to adapt quickly to rapidly changing needs, requirements, and situations while exemplifying AbbVie’s leadership attributes.

• Experience in drug development and clinical operations, including advanced knowledge of ICH and GCP guidelines and a comprehensive understanding of the global regulatory landscape.

• Demonstrated success in executing studies across global geographies and/or multiple therapeutic areas while managing several priorities in a fast-paced environment.
