Application Engineer – Industrial Adhesives, Tapes

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Malaysia.

📋 Description

• Assist in driving business growth initiatives across key sectors such as electronics, automotive, appliances, and general industry through application development and replication.

• Partner with key stakeholders at manufacturing firms to create new applications for both existing and innovative bonding solutions.

• Provide timely product recommendations, conduct application assessments, and offer quality resolution support to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Facilitate product and market-specific training through in-person sessions and webinars.

• Work alongside area and portfolio leaders to establish area-specific go-to materials by analyzing product performance, comparing competitive offerings, and understanding market trends.

• Organize and lead field trials with clients; assess local competition and marketing strategies.

• Continuously enhance knowledge of market and technology trends, converting processes, automation technologies, and industry standards.

• Actively engage in developing value propositions for successful commercialization.

• Gather insights reflecting the voice of the market from key industries to aid strategic decision-making.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Materials, Chemical, Mechanical, or a related discipline).

• 3–5 years of experience in application engineering or technical support within relevant sectors.

• Proven knowledge and expertise in adhesives, bonding tapes, single coated tapes, and/or labels.

• Familiarity and practical experience in tape converting processes.

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for translating customer requirements into technical solutions.

• Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and test results.

• Experience in supporting product validation, troubleshooting, and customer trials.

• Capacity to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Ability to collaborate effectively across sales, R&D, and manufacturing teams.

• Proficient in English, Bahasa Malaysia, and Chinese, both written and spoken.

• Willingness to travel for customer visits, trials, or training as required (up to 25% out-of-town travel anticipated).
