Application Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Indonesia.

📋 Description

• Maintain and enhance over 100 Overview.ai vision inspection cameras at customer sites in Hanoi.

• Provide swift troubleshooting to reduce production downtime effectively.

• Conduct regular preventive maintenance and assess system health.

• Manage and coordinate a small team of contractors for routine operations.

• Install, set up, and troubleshoot Overview.ai vision inspection systems on new production lines.

• Work with various PLC platforms and protocols, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Modbus, and OPC UA.

• Ensure smooth integration of AI inspection systems with factory automation equipment.

• Utilize multimeters and oscilloscopes to diagnose and resolve electrical and signal quality issues.

• Provide on-site technical support and assistance to customers.

• Lead training sessions for customer staff on system operation and basic troubleshooting.

• Foster trusted relationships with factory teams, production management, and technical personnel.

• Document and report recurring issues to improve product functionalities.

• Tackle technical challenges such as double triggering, camera response issues, or lighting inconsistencies.

• Modify PLC ladder logic as necessary to address integration challenges.

• Optimize inspection parameters to minimize false rejects while ensuring high detection accuracy.

• Collaborate with engineering teams at headquarters for system enhancements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation, or a related field.

• 3+ years of experience in automation, with expertise in multiple PLC systems.

• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical circuits using diagnostic tools (multimeters, oscilloscopes).

• Strong grasp of electrical concepts, including NPN/PNP sensor technology and signal conditioning.

• Familiarity with PLC ladder logic and the ability to implement necessary modifications.

• Experience in managing contractors or small technical teams.

• Proficient in English for technical documentation and coordination with headquarters.

• Proficiency in Mandarin is a significant advantage.

• Proficiency in Indonesian is a plus, but not mandatory.
