Appeals Coordinator – Peer to Peer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Contact payers to arrange Peer to Peer discussions with CorroHealth Medical Directors

• Reach out to payers regarding cases that have exceeded the scheduled Peer to Peer timeframe

• Record details from payer communications in CorroHealth's proprietary system

• Update account statuses in various databases

• Assist with case entry, Peer to Peer interactions, and appeals processes within the department

• Operate autonomously while also collaborating in a team environment

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned

• Allocate approximately 90% of the workday to phone communications

⛳️ Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory

• A Bachelor's degree is preferred

• Experience in a call center setting is advantageous

• Familiarity with denial processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial/Managed Care products is beneficial

• Previous experience with hospital EMRs and payer portals is preferred

• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel

• Capable of using Excel formulas such as addition, subtraction, and multiplication

• Competent in copying and pasting within cells and creating multiple worksheets in a workbook

• Possess accurate keyboarding skills

• Minimum typing speed of 30 words per minute

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

• Detail-oriented and capable of multitasking across various screens and applications

• Able to troubleshoot, seek solutions, and demonstrate initiative

• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment

• Must maintain confidentiality of client and sensitive information

• Strict compliance with HIPAA/HITECH regulations is required

• Availability to work Monday–Friday, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM EST

• Must be able to work at a computer terminal for 6 to 8 hours per day

• Occasionally able to lift and transport materials weighing up to 20 lbs.
