This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate with the Merchandising team to interpret creative briefs, mood boards, assortment strategies, and product directions into apparel graphics.
• Create unique graphics, prints, patterns, typography, illustrations, iconography, brand lockups, and applications.
• Develop culturally significant, collectible, original, and commercially viable Breakaway designs.
• Enhance artwork based on creative guidance and feedback.
• Produce realistic product mockups that convey garment construction, artwork placement, scale, materials, colors, and trim details.
• Generate production-ready artwork and technical packages for graphic and cut-and-sew items.
• Collaborate with printers, embroidery partners, and manufacturers to ensure successful production outcomes.
• Review samples, strike-offs, lab dips, and production proofs while providing design feedback and refinements.
• Work alongside Merchandising, Product Development, Marketing, Partnerships, and external collaborators.
• Present concepts and design rationales, incorporating feedback from stakeholders, artists, brand partners, and licensors.
• Oversee multiple projects while adhering to seasonal, production, and launch timelines.
• Keep abreast of trends in music, streetwear, fashion, art, youth culture, and emerging design technologies.
• Contribute innovative ideas to enhance Breakaway apparel collections and visual identity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related combination of education, training, and professional experience.
• Over 5 years of relevant experience in graphic or apparel design.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Strong grasp of typography, color theory, composition, fashion, culture, and emerging design trends.
• In-depth understanding of apparel production and garment development, including print and embroidery techniques, materials, trims, garment construction, cut-and-sew specifications, and factory-ready tech packs.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
• Capable of managing multiple projects and priorities under tight deadlines.
• A creative design portfolio showcasing production-ready artwork, apparel collections, and projects from concept to final product.
• Preferred: experience in designing merchandise for music festivals, artists, entertainment, sports, or other culture-driven brands.
• Preferred: experience with domestic and international manufacturing partners through technical development, sampling, and approvals.
• Preferred: familiarity with specialty print treatments, washes, appliqués, embroidery, woven labels, trims, and high-quality apparel details.
• Preferred: experience supporting limited-edition drops, artist collaborations, licensed products, or brand partnerships.
• 100% remote work.
