• Deliver prompt, courteous, and high-quality customer service to all policyholders and claimants by answering customer inquiries, processing claims, and addressing customer requests.
• Collect necessary information from customers to initiate claims and clarify policy details, coverage options, and appropriate actions.
• Manage a portfolio of claims, set initial reserves for all potential exposures, and make adjustments as needed throughout the claims process.
• Coordinate the repair of damaged vehicles and assist with rental reimbursement.
• Identify recovery opportunities related to subrogation, salvage, and total loss situations.
• Ensure adherence to specific state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures.
• Communicate with all involved parties and negotiate suitable settlements with claimants, insured individuals, and attorneys within the approved payment authority.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of claims guidelines, best practices, and process enhancements.
• Supervise and direct outside investigative service providers while collaborating closely with clients, their counsel, and investigative services to resolve claims effectively.
• Participate in learning opportunities to enhance knowledge of personal lines claims, court rulings impacting claims functions, current claims guidelines, and policy modifications.
• Bachelor's degree (not having one should not deter you from applying if you meet all other qualifications).
• An active adjuster license is required: a resident state license if available, or alternatively, a Designated Home State (DHS) license.
• Must possess an active New York adjuster's license or be willing and able to obtain one.
• A minimum of 3 years of focused experience in Ride Share APD claims adjusting is required, ideally including:
• First-party comprehensive and collision claims.
• Third-party property damage and bodily injury claims.
• Total loss and liability investigations.
• Experience in Ride Share (or TNC/Livery) is necessary.
• Willingness to obtain all required licenses within 60 days, including passing state-mandated testing.
• Knowledge of state regulations, policy provisions, and standard operating procedures is essential.
• Commercial experience is preferred.
• Capability to analyze and evaluate complex data and make informed decisions based on established guidelines, policies, and procedures.
• A curious mindset and motivation for problem-solving, along with questioning the status quo.
• A strong desire to engage in learning opportunities and pursue continuous professional development.
• Willingness to travel as needed for client and claims requirements.
