Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Report directly to the team lead and play a vital role in our transition from a legacy SQL Server data architecture to a contemporary cloud data infrastructure featuring Snowflake, dbt, and Tableau.

• Design and construct data pipelines utilizing Snowpark and/or Snowpipe in scenarios where native connectors for Snowflake are unavailable for various data sources.

• Assist in the design and development of a new multi-dimensional data model within Snowflake.

• Collaborate closely with our Business Intelligence Analytics team to monitor and implement enhancement requests for the data warehouse, ensuring it meets the reporting needs of stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience in data engineering, preferably with a focus on cloud migration to Snowflake.

• Proficient in SQL, including Common Table Expressions (CTEs) and window functions.

• Skilled in Python for constructing data pipelines with Snowpark.

• Experience in designing multi-dimensional data models utilizing star schema and Type 2 Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCDs).

• Familiarity with dbt for developing comprehensive ELT processes.
