Analytics Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of data models that enhance our portfolio and transform complex questions into critical decisions.

• Collaborate closely with product, monetization, user acquisition, and finance leaders to convert vague inquiries into precise models and dependable metrics.

• Design and manage the dbt project on BigQuery, including dimensional models, incremental loads, reusable macros, comprehensive tests, and documentation that is utilized effectively.

• Develop and refine Metabase dashboards that empower non-technical teams to make decisions independently, without the need to consult you for every inquiry.

• Supervise production dbt runs, address failures, trace issues from the dashboard layer back to raw data sources, and communicate impacts and resolutions to stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in analytics engineering or a senior analyst role with a strong focus on SQL and modeling tasks.

• Proficient in SQL with practical experience in a cloud data warehouse (preferably BigQuery; Snowflake or Redshift are also acceptable).

• A minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience with production dbt: you've constructed and maintained dimensional models, developed incremental models, authored macros, and implemented tests that identify real issues.

• Proven experience in creating dashboards for non-technical stakeholders—individuals who evaluate your work based on its effectiveness in aiding decision-making, rather than the complexity of the SQL.

• A genuine interest in the data you handle.

• Capacity to quickly learn and adapt to new business domains.

• Strong communication skills that are clear and concise.
