Analyst Developer, COBOL Mid-level

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Support development teams with z/OS operating system assistance; provide support for z/OS utilities; evaluate application performance within the z/OS environment; and collaborate with DevOps technologies and tools.

• Proficient in programming with Enterprise COBOL version 4.0 or later.

• Familiarity with the IBM platform, including z/OS, DB2, CICS, JCL, TSO, MainView, Strobe, Control-M, Xpediter, Abend-Aid, File-Aid, Endevor, SDFII, Eccox or similar tools, IBM Sterling Connect:Direct for z/OS, Rational Developer for z Systems - RDZ or equivalent, and MQ Series.

• Understanding of both online and batch applications (balanced line), CICS, TSO, JCL (e.g., SORT, IDCAMS), relational databases such as DB2 and/or CA-IDMS, VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS), dump analysis, and experience with Endevor.

• Background in working as an analyst on the mainframe platform.

• Experience in developing CICS transactions (multithreading).

• Knowledge of relational database modeling and performance analysis.

• Development experience with DB2 native stored procedures.

• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Understanding of code quality and performance analysis for mainframe applications.

• Experience with CICS access interfaces, CICS/WEB, Broker, and MQ Series.

• Knowledge of CICS structure including definitions and configurations.

• Proficient in business modeling using CA-GEn version 8 or higher.
