This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Perform thorough patient evaluations and triage in accordance with evidence-based protocols and clinical guidelines.
• Address patient inquiries through both inbound and outbound calls as well as secure messaging platforms.
• Evaluate symptoms, identify suitable levels of care, and offer patient education alongside clinical advice.
• Refer urgent or complex issues to healthcare providers or relevant care team members.
• Facilitate care coordination among providers, specialists, and healthcare teams to enhance patient outcomes.
• Accurately document assessments, recommendations, and communications in electronic medical records (EMRs).
• Assist with administrative clinical tasks such as FMLA, ADA, STD/LTD documentation, and coordinating patient care activities.
• Aid in the onboarding and training of new team members through shadowing, coaching, and reinforcing best practices.
• Work in collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, clinical staff, and practice administrators to ensure seamless care.
• Adhere to organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and clinical quality standards.
• Carry out other duties essential to fulfilling our mission, values, and dedication to patient-centered care.
• An active and unrestricted Registered Nurse license in a compact licensure state.
• At least 5 years of experience in ambulatory care, outpatient clinic, primary care, specialty practice, women's health, or nursing within a physician's office.
• Prior RN triage experience in an ambulatory or outpatient environment is highly desirable.
• Previous experience in remote nursing or telephone triage is preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment skills, critical thinking, and decision-making capabilities.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to provide empathetic patient support remotely.
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems such as Epic, Cerner, Greenway, Athenahealth, or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other standard office technologies.
• Capable of working independently while adhering to established clinical protocols and workflows.
