Algorithm Engineer

Posted 1 hour ago

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Engage in and lead the complete lifecycle of biosignal-based algorithm development for medical devices, which includes gathering specifications and requirements, data curation and labeling, development, failure analysis, production, maintenance, and documentation.

• Choose, implement, and develop the most suitable method for each challenge, understanding when to utilize deep learning techniques and when other approaches may be more effective.

• Improve our internal deep learning and machine learning tools to enhance team productivity, introduce new model architectures and algorithmic approaches, and refine the codebase to promote reusability where necessary for rapid experimentation.

• Disseminate and enhance our best practices to ensure that algorithm implementations are user-friendly, well-documented, and thoroughly tested, including unit tests, comprehensive documentation, CI, and non-regression testing.

• Present findings to key stakeholders and assist them in leveraging algorithms for client engagement.

• Support client-facing projects to understand and shape the impact of Beacon algorithms on our customers, both for existing deployed algorithms and future algorithm development.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 4 years of industry experience in machine learning and deep learning, especially in health sciences or other regulated fields, with a proven history of successfully deploying algorithms into production.

• Experienced in digital signal processing (DSP) and statistics, with a focus on selecting the right tool for the task, which in many cases may not necessitate machine learning or deep learning.

• Proficient in utilizing PyTorch (preferred) or other deep learning frameworks for training, developing, and deploying deep learning models.

• Familiar with the latest advancements in Deep Learning (Transformer/ViT, large scale modeling, large model training, etc.).

• Adhere to and implement best practices in software and ML engineering, which include testing, version control, code reviews, documentation, Dockerization, CI/CD, and experiment tracking.

• Knowledgeable about biosignals, medical imaging data, or extensive time-series datasets, or eager to learn more in this domain.

• Excel in a team environment, acknowledging that collaboration, open communication, and ongoing feedback are vital for collective success.

• Capable of distilling, discussing, and presenting complex technical subjects in a manner that is suitable for the intended audience, both internally and externally.

• Enthusiastic about participating in the entire algorithm development lifecycle, which encompasses scoping, data wrangling, algorithm development/experimentation, formal validation, quality/regulatory documentation, production deployment, and collaborating with clients who may benefit from these algorithms.
