This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +3 more states.
• Assist in developing permitting strategies and ensure environmental compliance across energy and hybrid infrastructure initiatives.
• Impact project siting, development, engineering, construction, and operations to adhere to air quality regulations.
• Collaborate with diverse teams and regulatory stakeholders to navigate permitting processes.
• Conduct environmental due diligence for acquisitions and early-stage development projects.
• Identify risks related to permitting and compliance and communicate actionable recommendations.
• Prepare and submit a variety of permit applications while coordinating technical studies.
• Facilitate interactions with regulatory agencies throughout the permit application process.
• Provide air permitting assistance during the engineering, procurement, construction, and operational phases.
• Keep organized project schedules, budgets, deliverables, and communications with stakeholders.
• Convert technical subjects into clear recommendations and contribute to internal knowledge sharing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is advantageous.
• Over 2 years of experience in air permitting, environmental compliance, or environmental consulting.
• Experience with projects in natural gas power generation, data centers, industrial manufacturing, chemical processing facilities, refineries, or other intricate infrastructure sectors.
• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
• Understanding of Clean Air Act regulations, including NSR, PSD, Title V, and associated state permitting programs.
• Experience in coordinating consultants and managing technical permitting deliverables.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including the capability to convey technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Strong skills in project management, organization, and prioritization.
• Familiarity with Google Earth, ArcGIS Online, and related geospatial tools.
• A curious, accountable, judicious, and collaborative approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to work autonomously while fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
