This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Deliver tailored support by responding to learner inquiries concerning course materials and projects.
• Before each call, mentors are required to review the students' past project submissions—provided by the Mentor Success Team when available—and/or any specific areas of the Nanodegree content or project that the student has indicated confusion or difficulty with.
• For in-depth concept explorations, mentors will prepare a slide presentation that elaborates on a Nanodegree concept, presents various use-cases to enhance student perspectives and understanding, and facilitates a Q&A session with the learners.
• During project walkthroughs, a mentor will be equipped with a slide presentation that details each component of the rubric to aid learners in comprehending expectations and common challenges they may face. This may include a mentor “grading” a sample submission to illustrate what mentors look for when evaluating projects.
• Conduct regular sessions (via Slack or video) to address learner questions related to projects and coursework, with no prior preparation necessary.
• Demonstrated technical proficiency with over 5 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence or Machine Learning.
• A strong desire to mentor and assist others in achieving their educational goals.
• Exceptional interpersonal skills; you thrive on building relationships, communicating effectively, and creating a positive learning atmosphere.
• A comprehensive understanding of the tech industry and emerging trends in AI and related domains.
• The ability to work part-time as an external contractor while managing your current commitments.
• Proficiency in Python and API integration.
• Solid grasp of fundamental AI/ML concepts.
• Familiarity with LLMs and Generative AI tools.
• Experience in prompt engineering and model evaluation.
• Practical knowledge of ML libraries (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
• Experience with AI frameworks (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex).
• Understanding of RAG, embeddings, and vector databases.
• Capability to build or support AI-driven applications/workflows.
• Awareness of AI use cases, limitations, and ethical considerations.
• Strong problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Hands-on experience with end-to-end AI/ML or GenAI projects.
