This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in District of Columbia, +2 more states.
• Establish, implement, and uphold engineering, quality, and operational standards to support AI Studio development in a secure enterprise-scale setting.
• Ensure that AI solutions adhere to best practices for reliability, scalability, model lifecycle governance, and responsible AI.
• Work collaboratively with development, MLOps, data engineering, and product teams to ensure standards align with mission and technical requirements.
• Assist in the integration and standardization across Advana platforms, including Databricks workflows, model development pipelines, and data engineering patterns.
• Create documentation, checklists, engineering playbooks, and audit mechanisms to enforce approved standards.
• Guide and review AI/ML code, notebooks, models, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Facilitate the delivery of work proposed in the associated RFP through repeatable, compliant, and high-quality processes.
• Supervise the creation, evolution, and enforcement of AI Studio standards.
• Define frameworks for model lifecycle management, MLOps patterns, and development governance.
• Lead alignment efforts with senior engineering, security, and product stakeholders.
• Provide architecture, governance, and compliance guidance for Databricks-based AI workflows.
• Mentor team members and encourage the adoption of standards.
• Develop reusable templates, tools, and code assets.
• Audit notebooks, models, and pipelines to ensure compliance.
• Assist in automating quality checks, linting, model validation, and maintaining environment consistency within Databricks.
• Proficient in designing, documenting, and enforcing engineering and operational standards for AI/ML development.
• Experience in supporting AI/ML development within secure enterprise environments.
• Practical experience with Databricks, including notebooks, clusters, repositories, workflows, and model deployment patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, version control, and automated quality enforcement.
• Knowledge of model governance, documentation, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional technical and mission teams.
• Active Secret clearance required.
• Experience with DoD or federal data/AI programs is preferred.
• Understanding of responsible AI principles and compliance frameworks is preferred.
• Experience with automated testing, linting, or quality assurance for AI pipelines is preferred.
• Familiarity with large-scale data platforms, secure data handling, and operational monitoring is preferred.
