AI Specialist Fellow — LLMs & RAG, Product & Applied Research

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Act as the technical AI leader, directing the architecture and advancement of the platform's intelligence layer.

• Establish and enhance the strategy for implementing LLMs within the product, focusing on content generation, personalized learning, and user engagement.

• Design and execute RAG pipelines, encompassing content ingestion, chunking, embedding generation, and retrieval methodologies.

• Organize semantically-prepared data repositories for AI applications, taking into account educational data, learning pathways, content, and user interactions.

• Set prompt engineering standards to guarantee uniformity and high-quality results.

• Collaborate closely with the full-stack team to facilitate the integration of backend, data, and AI elements.

• Assist the QA team in establishing quality benchmarks for AI outputs.

• Engage in the design of experiments alongside the agile lead, offering technical strategies and hypotheses.

• Enhance the performance, cost-effectiveness, and quality of AI solutions, focusing on latency, token consumption, and operational efficiency.

• Assess and experiment with various models, techniques, and AI tools.

• Create technical documentation and applied research reports to ensure project accountability.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must be a resident of Minas Gerais.

• Possess a PhD in a field pertinent to the project's activities; alternatively, hold a bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years of demonstrated experience in research, technological development, or innovation relevant to the project.

• Proven experience in integrating with LLM APIs (such as OpenAI or similar).

• Skills in data manipulation (e.g., Pandas or comparable tools).

• Familiarity with embeddings and semantic search principles.

• Proficient in using Git for version control.
