This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Identify, analyze, and redesign high-value manual processes utilizing AI agents, LLMs, and contemporary automation tools.
• Oversee the entire process: from ethnographic discovery of processes to the orchestration of production agents with suitable human oversight.
• Collaborate with domain experts to observe and document real workflows rather than relying solely on documented ones.
• Differentiate authentic expertise and edge-case reasoning from routines, habits, and inefficient practices.
• Recognize where "art" manifests as pattern recognition that can be modeled, in contrast to genuine judgment calls necessitating human decision-making.
• Develop formal process models based on informal, oral-tradition knowledge.
• Evaluate legacy or customized tools — understanding their actual functions versus public perceptions.
• Create replacements utilizing AI-native strategies (LLM pipelines, vision models, structured extraction) when applicable.
• Oversee the smooth phasing out of legacy tools without disrupting ongoing operations.
• Design multi-step AI agent workflows that break down complex expert tasks into verifiable stages.
• Establish tool-use patterns, context management, and strategies for failure and fallback for agents.
• Construct evaluation frameworks to compare agent outputs against expert benchmarks.
• Implement confidence-gated escalation — ensuring the system recognizes its limitations.
• Design the Human-in-the-Loop (HITL) framework: determining which decisions necessitate human consent, review, or override.
• Set escalation thresholds, audit trails, and feedback loops that enhance the system over time.
• Facilitate the transition of experts from "doers" to "reviewers and educators" while maintaining engagement and institutional knowledge.
• Develop calibration mechanisms to keep human reviewers sharp and not merely rubber-stamping decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 5 years of experience in software/AI engineering, including a minimum of 2 years in developing LLM-based or agent-based systems.
• Proven ability to extract tacit knowledge from domain experts through process mining, cognitive task analysis, or similar methods.
• Experience in designing and deploying orchestration for AI agents (multi-step, tool-using, with evaluation).
• Strong systems thinking capabilities — able to model a process comprehensively before writing any code.
• Demonstrated success in replacing legacy systems effectively without significant disruptions.
• Healthcare benefits include medical, dental, vision, and prescription drug coverage.
• Access to a Health Coach from GE Aerospace.
• Employee Assistance Program providing 24/7 confidential assessment, counseling, and referral services.
• Retirement benefits incorporate the GE Aerospace Retirement Savings Plan, a 401(k) savings plan with company matching contributions and retirement contributions.
• Access to Fidelity resources and planning consultants.
• Tuition assistance available.
• Adoption assistance provided.
• Paid parental leave.
• Disability insurance.
• Life insurance coverage.
• Paid time off for vacation or illness.
