AI Principal Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +4 more states.

📋 Description

• Lead and spearhead the development of technology and platforms to fulfill the company's AI/ML engineering requirements.

• Assist in designing the architecture and oversee the implementation of the AI/ML infrastructure, platforms, and services.

• Challenge existing practices and strive for superior technical solutions.

• Guide your team in utilizing data and/or AI technologies or tools in your design and development processes.

• Exhibit strong thought leadership and influence your peers.

• Collaborate closely with other senior engineers to comprehend business requirements.

• Engage with external partners to assess technologies and services that align with the AI/ML strategy.

• Develop, prioritize, manage, and execute roadmaps and project plans.

• Drive the technical vision and strategy for the AI/ML infrastructure.

• Provide technical guidance along with effective training and mentorship to engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• 15-20 years of experience in software design and development at a large scale.

• Strong software development skills in programming languages, with a willingness to learn Java and Python.

• Solid experience in constructing both supervised and unsupervised machine learning models.

• Experience in Reinforcement Learning is an advantage.

• Familiarity with using LLM models is a plus.

• Broad knowledge of distributed computing frameworks such as Ray and Spark.

• Proven experience with Kubernetes and Terraform.

• Experience with Sagemaker is a plus.

• Comprehensive understanding of cloud architecture tools and services, including S3, EMR, Kubernetes, and Lambda functions.

• Extensive experience throughout the full software development lifecycle, including production monitoring.

• Significant experience and deep expertise in Big Data and large-scale data platforms, particularly in AI and ML.

• Highly experienced with a profound understanding of CI/CD automation.

• Capability to promote and nurture a culture of visibility and transparency across teams.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field; a higher degree is advantageous.
