AI & Medical Data Science Internship

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Netherlands.

📋 Description

• Assist in the development of a Predictive Risk Engine aimed at identifying patients suitable for "Immersive Care" (XR distraction) as an alternative to medication.

• Extract insights from Unstructured Data: Utilize NLP (ClinicalBERT / BioBERT) to identify anxiety markers and procedural indicators from thousands of anonymized clinical notes.

• Feature Engineering: Clean and integrate complex longitudinal datasets that include medication dosages (Infusion tables), vital signs (Flowsheets), and recovery timestamps.

• Develop and validate an XGBoost classification model to generate an "XR Suitability Score" targeting an AUC-ROC of >0.75.

• Final year Master’s student or PhD candidate in Data Science, AI, Medical Informatics, or Applied Mathematics.

• Proficient knowledge of the Python data stack (Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost).

• Practical experience with the HuggingFace library and transformer models.

• Capability to navigate and merge extensive relational databases (BigQuery/SQL Server).
