AI Lead Developer, Python, React, AWS

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colombia.

📋 Description

• Create and establish scalable backend frameworks for AI-driven content generation processes.

• Develop and enhance LLM integration components with an emphasis on prompt engineering, context management, and token efficiency.

• Work alongside the Technical Principal on system architecture and infrastructure decisions.

• Integrate and fine-tune OpenAI GPT-4 and/or AWS Bedrock LLM APIs for content creation.

• Construct prompt structures that manage intricate branching logic and narrative consistency.

• Develop API metering and cost tracking systems to oversee token usage and improve unit economics.

• Create versioning and state management systems for edits to AI-generated content.

• Develop RESTful APIs and backend services on AWS platforms.

• Implement best practices for authentication, authorization, and data security.

• Design database schemas and strategies for data persistence tailored to complex content formats.

• Establish CI/CD pipelines, along with monitoring and logging systems.

• Engage in daily pair programming sessions with fellow developers and designers.

• Facilitate technical discussions during daily standups, sprint planning, and retrospective meetings.

• Mentor junior developers and disseminate knowledge throughout the wider team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 8 years of software engineering experience in developing production-level web applications.

• In-depth knowledge of AI/LLM development, with practical experience in building applications using OpenAI, Anthropic, or AWS Bedrock APIs.

• Proven background in prompt engineering, context window management, RAG systems, and AI cost optimization.

• Strong backend development proficiency in Python, API design, database architecture, and distributed systems.

• Extensive experience in designing and creating systems on AWS, including Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, and CloudWatch.

• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and iterative development processes.

• Experience with pair programming, and comfortable collaborating in real-time with other developers.

• Capability to quickly switch tasks and reprioritize in dynamic, high-pressure environments.

• Excellent communication skills in English.
