β’ Serve as the authoritative voice of the pod. With extensive knowledge of grocery retail and CPG β including merchandising, supply chain, store operations, trade, and e-commerce β you'll confidently engage with stakeholders at all levels. As the pod expands, you will delve deeper into a specific vertical, becoming Instacart's leading expert in that area.
β’ Identify core issues. Collaborate closely with partner teams to determine where agentic AI can genuinely impact the business β focusing not just on technical feasibility, but on transforming daily operations. Convert these challenges into AI-driven use cases for the pod to develop.
β’ Spearhead discovery and requirement gathering. Conduct structured workshops at partner locations, extract and prioritize the use case map, and translate field insights into actionable inputs for the pod and R&D. You will serve as the link between partner needs and development outcomes.
β’ Demonstrate, donβt just explain. Lead engaging demonstrations and platform walkthroughs tailored to the specific workflows of partners β turning abstract AI capabilities into tangible and persuasive experiences. The skill to showcase possibilities is as crucial as the ability to articulate them.
β’ Take ownership of adoption. Propel the change management necessary for successful deployments β including new operating rhythms, workflow redesigns, and user training. Success will be gauged by the transformation in team behavior, not just the delivery of software.
β’ This role is field-oriented. Regular travel is integral to the position β anticipate being on-site at partner locations frequently, potentially over 50% of the time. If you excel in a collaborative environment rather than a traditional office setting, you will excel in this role.
β’ Over 10 years of comprehensive experience β with vertical industry expertise in grocery retail or CPG, B2B consulting experience that translates domain knowledge into business solutions, and ideally a background at a technology or AI firm where youβve gained insights into platform development and sales.
β’ Profound domain knowledge in at least one grocery vertical β such as merchandising, supply chain, store operations, e-commerce, trade marketing, or CPG β enabling you to gain the trust of a category manager, VP of supply chain, or CPG trade lead from the outset.
β’ Proven track record of conducting consultative discovery with senior enterprise stakeholders and converting insights into clear, structured requirements.
β’ Experience in leading organizational change management β including training, workflow redesign, and the integration of new operational rhythms with business teams.
β’ Outstanding communication skills and executive presence β comfortable presenting to both C-suite and operational audiences, capable of navigating ambiguous, greenfield environments.
β’ Proficiency in BI and analytics tools (such as Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and workshop facilitation tools (like Miro, Lucidspark) β understanding what you are displacing or enhancing and how to map the replacements.
β’ A Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
β’ Willingness to travel approximately 50% within North America.
