AI Engineering Lead / Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Approximately 80% of the position involves offering technical expertise to clients and consulting teams regarding AI-driven software engineering, developer productivity, architecture, microservices, build processes, CI/CD, testing, security, and engineering workflows.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to engineering teams on contemporary software engineering methodologies and the integration of AI tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or GitHub Copilot.

• Establish technical strategies for product architecture, data flows, integrations, and build processes.

• About 20% of the role is dedicated to hands-on architecture and delivery, which includes designing, developing, and documenting AI applications that align with business objectives.

• Create or assist in the development of LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, and AI agent systems.

• Convert business needs into technical solutions and participate in implementation, testing, and code reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Solid foundation in software engineering, full-stack development, backend engineering, or software architecture.

• Proficient hands-on experience with Python.

• Familiarity with microservice API development, including REST, GraphQL, or gRPC.

• Experience with API frameworks and tools such as FastAPI, Swagger, OpenAPI, or similar.

• Practical experience utilizing AI-assisted software development tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or similar.

• Hands-on experience with LLM applications, prompt engineering, structured prompting, RAG, AI agents, or model routing.

• Comprehensive understanding of large language models and transformer architectures.

• Capability to design, develop, and enhance retrieval-augmented generation pipelines.

• Knowledge of tokenization, context window limitations, hallucination risks, model performance, and cost optimization.

• Strong grasp of software engineering best practices, including automated testing, CI/CD, clean code, documentation, and code reviews.

• Robust computer science fundamentals encompassing data structures, algorithms, automated testing, object-oriented programming, and performance complexity.

• Skill in converting business requirements into clear technical specifications and implementation strategies.

• Excellent communication abilities with the capacity to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Comfortable in a client-facing role.

• Willingness to work with some overlap with US working hours.
