AI Engineer I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Grasp the trade-offs involved in implementing Generative AI and Machine Learning, focusing on their real impact on crucial business metrics.

• Convert business requirements into feasible technical solutions utilizing LLMs and data.

• Collaborate with Product, Software Engineering, and Design teams to co-create solutions.

• Independently design advanced LLM solutions that engage millions of users within the education sector.

• Thoroughly understand and apply AI concepts such as Vector Databases, multimodal LLMs, and both single-agent and multi-agent systems.

• Create and enhance annotation, validation, and quality pipelines for LLM applications, implementing evaluations, LLM-as-a-judge, evaluation metrics, etc.

• Utilize the team's development stack, including CI/CD, LLM infrastructure, governance, and optimization of API/compute costs.

• Engage with teachers, students, families, school principals, and educational specialists to co-develop solutions tailored for the educational environment.

• Build and influence the team to quickly and adaptively create prototypes for the rapid validation of business and technical hypotheses.

• Proactively research new papers, technical blogs, and significant global AI conferences to introduce trends, new libraries, and AI techniques to the team.

• A genuine passion for Education and human learning.

• A solid theoretical and practical foundation (gained through academic, open-source, or professional projects) in Data Science, Machine Learning Engineering, or the development of LLM-based applications.

• Proficiency in Python and Git, with a strong commitment to Software Engineering best practices, including Clean Code, Unit Testing, and Design Patterns.

• Effective communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to product and business stakeholders.

• Proficient in English (Intermediate to Advanced) with excellent reading comprehension skills for understanding documentation, scientific articles, and AI research papers.
