AI Engineer – Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Europe.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Frontend Engineers, Designers, and QA experts to comprehend requirements, define features, and create cohesive experiences.

• Leverage AI coding tools such as Claude to expedite feature development—generating code, managing boilerplate, and constructing scaffolding. Critically review all AI-generated code prior to deployment.

• Develop and deliver AI products, workflows, and agents.

• Provide your technical expertise throughout all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, from discovery to deployment, including architectural decisions, design feedback, and deployment strategies.

• Team up to create robust new features, APIs, databases, and infrastructure. Assist in identifying and resolving bugs swiftly while upholding high-quality standards.

• Take end-to-end ownership of feature delivery: design, develop, test, deploy, monitor, and iterate.

• Ensure outstanding products and services through quality engineering, thorough testing, and dedicated, customer-centric development.

• Maintain continuous communication with cross-functional teams. Clearly articulate technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders. Transform requirements into effective solutions while keeping all parties aligned.

• Remove roadblocks for teams by providing clear answers, quickly debugging issues, and suggesting solutions to ambiguous challenges.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Backend/Software Engineer. You have successfully delivered real AI products, features, debugged production issues, and considered scalability.

• Proficient in developing with NodeJS or Python. You write clean, maintainable code with ease, understanding patterns, conventions, and best practices, with syntax being second nature.

• Strong knowledge of SQL and NoSQL principles. Particularly adept with PostgreSQL and ORM libraries (such as Sequelize, TypeORM, or similar). You can write queries, optimize performance, and design purposeful schemas.

• Proven experience in delivering real products using Claude. You have utilized AI to accelerate development and launched features that operate in production. You can effectively prompt, critically review AI-generated code, and discern when to use AI versus manual coding.

• Exceptional communication skills—both written and verbal. You articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders with clarity. You produce clear documentation, code comments, and Slack updates. You ask insightful questions and proactively share context. Strong remote collaboration skills with a focus on asynchronous communication. You proactively share status updates, blockers, and decisions, and have successfully collaborated in distributed teams.
