AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain production-level AI systems and APIs that power our offerings.

• Integrate and optimize models (LLMs, embeddings, or other machine learning architectures) for both customer-facing and internal applications.

• Manage the complete lifecycle of AI features—from research and prototyping to production implementation, deployment, and monitoring.

• Work collaboratively with engineering, product, and science teams to define and deliver impactful AI-driven functionalities.

• Create data pipelines, retrieval systems, and scalable infrastructures for inference and model serving.

• Ensure the performance, observability, and reliability of AI components in production environments.

• (Depending on experience) Lead AI projects, influence architectural and system design choices, and mentor fellow engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in building and deploying AI or machine learning systems in production at scale (beyond mere prototypes or demonstrations).

• In-depth knowledge of model integration workflows—from inference pipelines to prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) setups.

• Strong backend engineering expertise (Python or Node.js preferred).

• Experience in designing AI architectures (e.g., hybrid retrieval systems, multi-model orchestration, or embeddings).

• Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and data pipelines.

• A solid understanding of API development and system architecture for scalable applications.

• Ability to work independently and lead execution in a startup setting.

• Prior experience integrating LLMs into production products (OpenAI, Anthropic, Vertex AI, etc.) is preferred.

• Knowledge of vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, FAISS, Chroma) is preferred.

• Experience in observability, monitoring, and evaluation of AI systems is preferred.

• Prior experience leading projects or mentoring engineers is preferred.

• Background in healthtech, biotech, or handling sensitive health data is preferred.
