AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and implement clinical AI agents that reason based on patient context, utilize tools, and produce care recommendations.

• Take ownership of the reliability, observability, and cost-effectiveness of LLM-powered workflows on a large scale.

• Construct and enhance RAG pipelines utilizing clinical knowledge bases, treatment protocols, and real-time patient data.

• Create evaluation frameworks, including offline benchmarks, safety assessments, regression tests, and LLM-as-judge pipelines integrated into CI/CD.

• Architect multi-step agent orchestration processes: planning, memory management, tool usage, error recovery, and human-in-the-loop escalation pathways.

• Work collaboratively with clinical, product, and engineering teams to convert patient care requirements into AI system designs.

• Remain at the cutting edge of AI and engineering best practices, consistently motivating the team to elevate standards for quality, performance, and architecture.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in building AI/ML-powered systems in a production environment.

• Proven track record in a high-growth, dynamic setting with complete ownership from design to production.

• Practical experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source models), including prompt engineering, tool usage/function calling, and structured outputs.

• Familiarity with building RAG systems: embeddings, vector stores, retrieval optimization, and grounding techniques.

• Preferred experience with agent frameworks or orchestration patterns (tool calling, planners, multi-agent coordination).

• Experience in fine-tuning (SFT, RLHF, LoRA) for domain-specific tasks is preferred.

• Background in healthcare or regulated industries (HIPAA, SOC 2, clinical data management) is preferred.
