This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design, develop, and sustain AI-driven tools, workflows, and internal automation systems that enhance team productivity and business results.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to pinpoint high-impact AI enablement use cases spanning product development, operations, support, and internal business processes.
• Create integrations between AI services, internal systems, and external platforms utilizing APIs, scripting, and automation frameworks.
• Convert business challenges into scalable technical solutions, including prompts, orchestration logic, data pipelines, and supporting applications.
• Establish and adhere to best practices for responsible AI usage, covering security, privacy, data management, testing, monitoring, and documentation.
• Assess emerging AI tools, models, and platforms, providing recommendations for practical solutions that align with CivicPlus's requirements and architecture.
• Work alongside engineering and data teams to ensure dependable access to the data, services, and infrastructure necessary for supporting AI-enabled solutions.
• Generate and update documentation, technical standards, and reusable patterns that facilitate sustainable AI adoption across teams.
• Troubleshoot and enhance existing AI automations and integrations to boost reliability, performance, cost-efficiency, and user experience.
• Offer technical guidance, training, and enablement support to internal teams utilizing AI-powered tools and workflows.
• Engage as a collaborative member of an Agile team and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of engineering practices and delivery standards.
• Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
• Augment product operations workflows using AI: conduct research synthesis, analyze customer signals, manage feedback triage, and provide release support.
• Operate within GovRAMP and sensitive-data constraints from day one.
• Connect product strategy to AI delivery; mid-to-senior level business judgment is anticipated.
• Coordinate with Engineering's AI adoption efforts (e.g., AI-assisted code review) without directly managing Engineering's tools.
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Customer Success Ops where workflows intersect.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or a related field preferred; equivalent work experience may also be considered.
• 5–8 years of experience in software engineering, automation engineering, data engineering, machine learning engineering, solutions engineering, or a similar technical role.
• Experience in building or supporting AI-driven workflows, automations, internal tools, or system integrations.
• Proficiency in at least one scripting or programming language, such as Python or JavaScript.
• Experience with APIs, integration patterns, and both structured and unstructured data.
• Familiarity with contemporary AI/ML concepts, including large language models, prompt design, evaluation, and model or service integration.
• Experience with cloud platforms and developer tools used for deploying, monitoring, and maintaining technical solutions.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to balance speed, quality, security, and maintainability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the capability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in documenting workflows, standards, and technical solutions for long-term maintainability.
• Preferred experience with workflow automation platforms, data pipelines, governance controls, experimentation, or internal enablement and change management.
• Preferred experience in supporting responsible AI practices, model evaluation, or AI operations within a business environment.
• Experience in product operations, product analytics, or product strategy with strong technical expertise.
• Comfort in handling sensitive customer or regulated data; familiarity with GovRAMP, FedRAMP, or similar frameworks is advantageous.
• Nice to Have: Previous experience in product operations, product analytics, or product strategy.
• Experience in GovTech, public sector, or regulated industry.
• Experience in designing AI-first product workflows (beyond simply adding AI capabilities to existing flows).
