AI Data Architect

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead the design and management of the enterprise AI data platform — a cohesive and governed layer that ingests, transforms, stores, and delivers all data utilized by AI systems throughout the organization.

• Create multi-domain data models (lakehouse, data mesh, event-driven) that are structured from the outset to support AI workloads: ensuring clean lineage, versioned schemas, comprehensive contracts, and low-latency serving APIs.

• Identify tools and technologies for the development of automated data pipelines, write ETL processes, generate dashboards and reports, and derive insights.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of practical experience in data engineering and architecture, along with the capability to construct production-ready AI/ML and LLM-era data infrastructure.

• Extensive experience with either Databricks or Snowflake; familiarity with both is advantageous.

• Strong understanding of data architecture patterns and principles, with the ability to design secure and scalable data lakes, data warehouses, data hubs, and other event-driven architectures.

• Proficiency in designing and implementing ETL processes using Python, Java, or Scala.

• Manage the complete data stack: real-time streaming (Kafka, Spark Structured Streaming), batch processing (Databricks, PySpark, Delta Lake), cloud storage and compute (AWS, Azure), and data quality/metadata management.

• Lead the modernization of legacy pipelines (on-prem ETL, batch DWH) to cloud-native, AI-ready architectures, achieving measurable enhancements in cost, latency, and delivery speed.

• Demonstrated experience in creating enterprise-scale AI data platforms that cater to multiple AI consumers, rather than a single application or pipeline.

• Practical experience with vector stores, semantic models, knowledge graphs, and retrieval infrastructure in production settings.

• Familiarity with LLMOps: model serving pipelines, MLflow, CI/CD for AI, automated evaluation, and production monitoring.
