AI Backend Engineer – AI Workflow Systems

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Singapore.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage backend systems that facilitate AI-driven insurance workflows in a production environment.

• Create and implement AI orchestration layers that integrate models, APIs, workflows, and business logic.

• Construct inference pipelines for LLM-based and AI-enhanced automation solutions.

• Enhance latency, throughput, and cost efficiency across AI services (including caching, batching, streaming, and routing).

• Establish stable service boundaries between backend systems, machine learning components, and product APIs.

• Execute observability practices: logging, metrics, tracing, alerting, and incident response workflows.

• Troubleshoot production issues across distributed AI systems and identify root causes.

• Work closely with frontend, product, operations, and machine learning teams to deliver comprehensive features.

• Persistently enhance system reliability, scalability, and overall performance.

• Proven backend engineering experience in production environments.

• Background in building or managing high-throughput, low-latency services.

• Knowledge of AI systems (including LLMs, embeddings, or AI workflows).

• Experience with distributed systems and debugging in production settings.

• Solid understanding of APIs, data flows, and principles of system design.

• Familiarity with observability tools (such as logging, monitoring, and tracing).
