AI Automation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Algeria.

📋 Description

• Oversee Operations: Manage the operational foundation — including HR and staff management, onboarding and offboarding processes, relationships with providers and vendors, coordination of contracts and legal matters, payments to debtors, as well as SaaS and internal tools. Ensure smooth operations, contract signings, and partner deliverables.

• Streamline Operations: Redesign each of these workflows utilizing AI agents and contemporary automation. The objective is to create an Operations function that operates on systems rather than hours — eliminating manual tasks from the process.

• Supervise the Business Operations Associate: Directly manage and nurture our current Business Operations Associate. Provide coaching on AI-integrated methodologies, prioritize their tasks to address the most critical Operations bottlenecks, and support their growth as the function expands.

• Develop New AI-Driven Capabilities: Leverage AI to create new internal services and capabilities — both within Operations and across other teams at Smeetz — that would not be possible without it. Identify high-impact opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, and scale successful initiatives.

• Collaborate with Accounting & Finance: Act as a collaborator to the Senior Accounting & Controlling Manager — share insights on AI tools, automation practices, and operational lessons learned. Each function maintains its distinct responsibilities.

• Foster Adoption & Enablement: Transform AI into a routine practice rather than a one-time project. Educate teams on Claude skills, effective prompts, and workflows. Document successful strategies and phase out ineffective ones.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years in operations, business operations, chief-of-staff, or related generalist roles within a SaaS or scale-up setting.

• Strong understanding of business fundamentals — knowledge of how a company operates: people, vendors, contracts, cash flow, and customers.

• Practical experience in developing AI agents (such as Anthropic Claude or similar), prompt engineering, and current automation platforms (n8n, Make, Zapier, Notion).

• Adept with data and basic scripting, capable of building and troubleshooting automations from start to finish (experience with Python, JS, or SQL is advantageous but not mandatory).

• Proficient in SQL (BigQuery experience is a significant plus); familiarity with integrating SaaS APIs (HubSpot, Notion, Slack, billing systems).

• Experience across HR, legal, vendor, and finance operations — or a willingness to take ownership of all these areas.

• Full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of French, Spanish, or German is a plus.

• Experience in a SaaS or scale-up environment is preferred; exposure to finance or operations domains is a plus.
