This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Evaluate suppliers' manufacturing and quality procedures by conducting supplier audits based on various applicable standards.
β’ Lead and/or assist in MRB activities to ensure the optimal resolution of non-conforming materials and verify that appropriate corrective actions are executed.
β’ Conduct on-site visits to suppliers for root cause analysis and validation of corrective actions related to quality issues.
β’ Encourage and promote the adoption of customer-preferred continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six-Sigma, Poka-Yoke, and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA).
β’ Manage the escalation of unresolved supplier quality challenges within assigned projects and suppliers.
β’ Assist suppliers in assessing their current manufacturing or business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and formulating solutions to enhance supplier performance using various problem-solving strategies.
β’ Create and maintain comprehensive and precise reports on supplier performance and the progress of quality improvements.
β’ Provide weekly and monthly updates on supplier progress to ensure alignment with customer expectations.
β’ Over 8 years of practical experience as a Quality Engineer in an Aerospace Manufacturing Environment.
β’ 5 to 8 years of experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) in compliance with AS9102 standards at a quality engineering level.
β’ Strong comprehension of various engineering processes, standard drawing conventions, interpretation of drawings, specifications, and GD&T.
β’ 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience with ISO9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems, particularly in production, quality, and logistics.
β’ Familiarity with, or preferred hands-on experience with, FAA, EAR, and ITAR standards and regulations.
β’ Proven experience in leading customer audits.
β’ Skills in project management, time management, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities.
β’ Ability to function effectively as a team member and to lead other team members.
