This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Oregon.
• Provides psychiatric assessment, care, and treatment both in-person and via telepsychiatry to enhance the mental well-being of clients.
• Conducts psychiatric evaluations as required for new clients.
• Reevaluates and updates assessments as necessary.
• Performs age-appropriate history and physical examinations for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill perioperative patients.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests according to the patient’s age-specific requirements.
• Prescribes suitable pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options.
• Implements interventions aimed at helping the patient regain or maintain physiological stability.
• Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
• Facilitates the patient's transition within and between healthcare environments.
• Reviews and assesses clinical data related to the client's physical condition.
• Reviews and follows up on prior mental and physical treatment plans.
• Leads designated individual, group therapy, and/or educational sessions as part of specific therapeutic protocols.
• Reviews, approves, and signs individual service plans for clients.
• Documents and updates the client’s progress in progress notes.
• Prescribes medications for clients.
• Monitors the effectiveness of medications and makes modifications as needed.
• Collaborates with team members, including clinicians, nurses, and social workers, to discuss client progress and outlook.
• Coordinates with external agencies as required.
• Acts as a client advocate when appropriate.
• Contacts the relatives of clients to organize family conferences if necessary.
• Medical degree in psychiatry from a recognized program.
• Completion of an Adult residency program.
• Licensed by the State of Oregon.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing school.
• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program.
• Current Nurse Practitioner certification in the specialty area.
• The individual must be able to successfully pass a criminal history background check.
• Preference will be given to those with experience working with individuals with mental illnesses in a residential or psychiatric hospital environment.
