This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Puerto Rico.
• In the role of a Remote Administrator on Call, you will play a vital part in fulfilling LifeLink’s life-saving mission.
• You will assist recovery services personnel by supervising activities associated with donor assessment and recovery.
• Collaborating closely with the Referral Coordinator (RC), you will optimize the use of available staff and resources to ensure exceptional support and service for referring hospitals and organizations.
• You will stay informed about all active donors and referrals, ensuring that the legal next-of-kin are updated on the donation status or approached for organ and tissue donation.
• Your role involves providing real-time direction and guidance to staff concerning identification, evaluation, authorization, clinical management, organ allocation, and surgical recovery, all aimed at maximizing every organ donation opportunity.
• You will actively engage with staff to deliver comprehensive, detailed guidance, leveraging your advanced clinical expertise and knowledge of the organ donation process.
• When staff face operational challenges, you will offer advice through mentoring, talking points, and coaching.
• You will take part in performance improvement initiatives, identify trends, and support formal staff educational needs, including participation in regular case activity reviews.
• Engaging in review, education, and essential organizational meetings, you will foster best practice sharing and collaboration between departments.
• Your responsibilities will also include regulatory oversight and verification of critical elements within the donation process, such as brain death documentation, hemodilution, additional risk status, infectious disease testing results, allocation variances, and transplant center/surgeon issues.
• Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
• A bachelor’s degree or a comparable combination of education, management, and/or AOC experience is required.
• A minimum of three years of experience as a clinical coordinator in a procurement organization or two years in management and/or AOC is necessary.
• You should possess advanced knowledge of human anatomy and medical terminology, organ perfusion, strong decision-making skills, and a keen attention to detail.
• Staying updated on all LifeLink and OPTN policies, CMS regulations, and pertinent state and federal laws is essential.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication and customer service abilities are required.
• The capacity to operate effectively in a high-paced, high-stress environment due to the nature of work involving death and dying, which may introduce emotional and physical stressors, is crucial.
• You should be adept at prioritizing remote work (computer and smartphone) to meet the goals for all active donors and referrals, ensuring the needs of all stakeholders are fulfilled.
