This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +2 more states.
• Assess Jerry’s property tax appeal product and rigorously evaluate its workflows.
• Identify processes or designs that may not withstand interaction with Florida’s Value Adjustment Board system.
• Clarify the practical application of Chapter 194, F.S., as well as DOR uniform rules 12D-9 and 12D-10.
• Describe the county-level variations among Florida Property Appraiser offices and VABs.
• Guide on the timing of TRIM notices, the 25-day filing window, DR-486 and its variants, e-filing versus paper submissions, and the §194.014 partial-payment requirement.
• Assist in developing hearing and evidence workflows related to comparable selection, evidence exchange timelines, and condition-based arguments.
• Rectify product decisions prior to production to prevent any negative impact on customers.
• Provide consultation to the early-stage product team for about 5–10 hours per week via phone or video.
• A minimum of 5 years of direct and practical experience in Florida filing residential property tax appeals.
• Personal experience in filing or advocating petitions before a Florida VAB, or serving as a special magistrate in adjudications.
• Experience gained through direct filings or petition advocacy, rather than offering property tax advice from a distance.
• Background involving hundreds of parcels and familiarity with edge cases.
• Thorough understanding of each step in the Florida property tax appeals process.
• Capability to articulate county-level differences across Florida’s volume counties.
• No existing conflict with another company developing consumer property tax appeal software.
• Strong preference for candidates based in Florida.
• Availability for hourly, as-needed consulting via phone or video.
• Capacity to commit to approximately 5–10 hours per week without a fixed schedule.
