• The Actuary, Pricing is responsible for establishing pricing assumptions, submitting bids, and obtaining approval for premium rates and rate certifications from regulatory bodies.
• You will assist in the implementation of rates, new plans, and modifications to benefits.
• You will provide insights to Product Development regarding the cost implications of new products and benefits.
• Your role will involve developing and maintaining pricing tools for both standard and customized benefits.
• The Actuary, Pricing will report directly to the Associate Director of Actuarial Pricing.
• This position entails setting market-level financial metrics to align with segment profitability objectives, analyzing market-level outcomes and forecasts, and proposing pricing strategies to bridge gaps to target metrics.
• You will utilize market-level forecasts and experience data tools to investigate root causes and gather insights.
• You will research competitors within the marketplace and work collaboratively with sales and other partners to formulate strategies for profitable membership growth.
• You will be responsible for actuarial certifications on rate filings, including ensuring compliance with state and federal rating and benefit regulations.
• You will provide strategic advice to executives on significant functional strategies, often tailored to specific segments.
• A Bachelor's Degree is required.
• FSA or ASA designation along with a relevant advanced degree, recent work experience, and/or other pertinent professional certifications such as MAAA.
• Proven ability to effectively communicate ideas in both written and verbal formats.
• Experience across multiple functions (e.g., modeling, pricing, rate filing, reporting & analysis, reserving, or trending).
