Acquisition Editor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Adhere to specified content briefs to discover and connect with relevant creators and publishers.

• Establish and nurture robust relationships with creators and publishers in key subject areas.

• Assess proposed content to ensure alignment with editorial, commercial, and catalogue standards.

• Create and oversee a pipeline of licensed products that bolster Packt’s publishing strategy.

• Negotiate non-exclusive licensing agreements that accurately reflect content value and distribution reach.

• Secure a steady flow of licensed products in accordance with quarterly objectives.

• Collaborate with editorial, production, and quality assurance teams to facilitate the seamless transition of contracted content.

• Engage in editorial board and title-level discussions to ensure cohesion between in-house and licensed content.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 2 years' experience in relationship management, acquisition, or commercial roles, preferably within the publishing, media, or digital content sectors.

• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with a knack for building trust and credibility with creators and publishers.

• Strong commercial acumen, capable of evaluating content value and making data-driven decisions.

• Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to manage a pipeline effectively and meet targets.

• A proactive and resilient self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

• Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to upholding high standards of quality and accuracy.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and online collaboration tools.

• A dependable remote working environment, including a stable internet connection suitable for large file transfers.
