This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Michigan.
• Executes medical billing and accounts receivable tasks.
• Aids fellow accounting personnel in their responsibilities and obligations.
• Handles billing for Residential and/or Community Services as assigned.
• Prepares and bills for residential client services in line with funding source parameters.
• Maintains financial records, including third-party insurance and special arrangement billing.
• Processes and submits claims on a weekly basis.
• Organizes and maintains client billing files in an efficient manner.
• Investigates and resolves outstanding accounts receivable items.
• Compiles a list of monthly write-offs and submits it to departments for approval.
• Generates bad debt write-offs when appropriate.
• Sends claims to collections and produces bad debt write-offs as needed.
• Distributes monthly statements to clients.
• Handles patient inquiries via phone and email.
• Provides assistance to team members as required.
• Cross-trains and acts as backup for accounts receivable/billing functions when necessary.
• 5 years of experience in accounts receivable.
• Additional specialized training focusing on insurance billing is preferred.
• Proficiency in computerized billing systems and Excel is necessary.
• Experience with PCE and Waystar is preferred.
• Must subscribe to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and align with the agency's goals, purpose, and objectives.
• Professional Billing Certification is preferred but not mandatory.
• Excellent internal and external customer service skills are essential.
