This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Provide support for daily accounting tasks for nonprofit clients, which includes month-end closing, reconciliations, and the preparation of financial statements.
• Assist in fund accounting by tracking both restricted and unrestricted funds, as well as supporting grant and donor reporting.
• Prepare and review financial reports intended for internal use and stakeholders of clients.
• Aid in year-end processes, encompassing audit preparations and coordinating requests with auditors.
• Contribute to process enhancements and assist in the implementation of best practices throughout client engagements.
• Operate within accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Intacct) while ensuring data accuracy and fulfilling reporting requirements.
• Engage with clients to collect information, address basic queries, and provide updates on status.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• 3–6+ years of accounting experience, particularly with nonprofit or fund accounting.
• Proficiency in month-end closing, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
• Understanding of fund accounting principles (distinction between restricted and unrestricted funds, grants, donor reporting).
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Blackbaud Financial Edge and Raisers Edge, Bill.com, Expensify, Concur, ADP, and/or Gusto.
