Accountant – Multinational, Multi-Entity

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.

📋 Description

• Take charge of daily accounting support for a multinational biotech organization (Canada with US and UK entities), ensuring precision in all financial records.

• Develop and sustain dependable intercompany transaction tracking (billing, recharges, loans, eliminations) to ensure balances reconcile accurately each period.

• Assist in preparing consolidation-ready accounting and facilitate coordination across entities, paving the way for clear consolidated reporting.

• Collaborate closely with CFO-level stakeholders to provide clear financial insights, explanations, and progress reports (beyond just spreadsheets).

• Ensure that accounting practices are consistent across various regulatory and reporting frameworks, identifying risks early and suggesting practical solutions.

• Enhance or establish essential closing processes (checklists, timelines, reconciliations) in a setting with evolving systems and structures.

• Coordinate effectively with teams across different regions, consistently communicating status updates, obstacles, and next steps.

• Keep detailed documentation of entity structures, intercompany assumptions, and accounting decisions to minimize future uncertainties.

⛳️ Requirements

• Practical experience in supporting multinational, multi-entity accounting with subsidiaries under a parent organization.

• Demonstrated multi-jurisdiction accounting expertise in both UK and Canada settings.

• Strong background in intercompany accounting, including eliminations/reconciliations and consolidation support.

• Solid understanding of IFRS and the capability to apply it in practical situations.

• Experience collaborating with CFOs or finance leadership in a supportive/advisory role.

• Excellent remote communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across regions with regular progress updates.

• Availability to work Monday–Friday with daily overlap with an Eastern Time (EST) team (flexible hours, but overlap is necessary).

• Experience assisting US entities and/or bridging the gap between US GAAP and IFRS reporting requirements (preferred).

• CPA certification (or equivalent) and experience in controlled/regulated industries (preferred).

• Exposure to biotech or life sciences, particularly in multi-entity, venture-backed contexts (preferred).

• Familiarity with QuickBooks (or similar SMB accounting tools) along with strong Excel/Sheets proficiency (preferred).

• Experience establishing intercompany frameworks, charts of accounts, or close infrastructure from the ground up (preferred).
