Accountant, International Jurisdictions

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Overseeing accounting operations for entities that adhere to US and/or EU regulations.

• Recording and managing accounting transactions.

• Maintaining the general ledger alongside supporting documentation.

• Ensuring adherence to US GAAP and/or applicable EU regulations (IAS/IFRS and local laws).

• Keeping track of tax thresholds, nexus rules, and regulatory updates across different jurisdictions.

• Managing indirect tax compliance related to SaaS and digital services (sales tax, VAT, reverse charge mechanisms, OSS/IOSS where applicable).

• Conducting account reconciliations (AP/AR, billing platforms, and balance sheet accounts).

• Preparing balance sheets and profit & loss/income statements.

• Coordinating and contributing to the preparation of complete documentation for annual income tax filings.

• Assisting with audits and collaborating with external advisors when necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience as an Accountant.

• Comprehensive understanding of accounting regulations and procedures, including GAAP and IAS.

• Experience in US or EU accounting is essential.

• Proficient in accounting software (such as QuickBooks, etc.).

• Advanced skills in MS Excel, including Vlookups and pivot tables.

• Familiarity with general ledger functions.

• Strong attention to detail coupled with good analytical abilities.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.

• Proficient in English.

• Ability to operate within the CET timezone.

• Fluency in Ex-Yu languages (Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian, Montenegrin).
