This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• Prepare and submit various tax returns, including those for individuals, sole traders, companies, trusts, and partnerships, adhering to ATO regulations.

• Manage comprehensive bookkeeping tasks using Xero, encompassing bank reconciliations, journal entries, and maintenance of the general ledger.

• Accurately process BAS, IAS, and GST reports, ensuring all submissions are completed within legal deadlines.

• Supervise accounts payable and receivable operations, which include invoice processing, payment tracking, and reconciliations.

• Assist with payroll processing, superannuation obligations, Single Touch Payroll (STP) reporting, and reconciliations at the end of periods.

• Support month-end and year-end activities, including the preparation of financial statements and relevant supporting schedules.

• Provide general administrative support, such as data entry, scanning, filing, and maintaining organized digital and physical records.

• Liaise with clients, the ATO, and third parties to resolve queries, collect documentation, and ensure compliance across all accounting aspects.


⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience as a tax accountant or in a comparable accounting/bookkeeping position within a professional setting.

• Advanced skills in Xero accounting software, with a strong capability to handle comprehensive bookkeeping functions and reporting (Xero certification preferred).

• In-depth knowledge of Australian taxation laws, including GST, BAS preparation, payroll compliance, and ATO lodgement requirements.

• Practical experience in payroll processing, financial reporting, and reconciliation tasks across multiple entities.

• High accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to identify and rectify discrepancies in financial records.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the capacity to handle competing deadlines in a dynamic environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting, data analysis, and financial tracking.

• Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to assist in general office administrative tasks and support broader team operations when necessary.

• Windows OS experience preferred (virtual drive functions only on Windows).
