Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Prepare fluctuation analyses and financial schedules for designated entities.

• Execute monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations with a high level of precision.

• Analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606.

• Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, which include journal entries, accruals, and account analysis.

• Support audit-related requests by preparing necessary schedules and documentation.

• Utilize ERP and consolidation systems (such as OneStream) to enhance reporting and ensure data accuracy.

• Develop and maintain basic to moderate automation solutions (e.g., RPA bots, workflow automation, Excel/Power Query-based tools, scripts) to minimize manual effort and increase precision.

• Engage in special projects such as system implementations, reporting improvements, and internal control (SOX) initiatives.

• Maintain compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and internal control standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting with 3 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 1 year of relevant experience.

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, fundamental accounting principles, and financial statements.

• Experience in multi-entity accounting or consolidations.

• Practical experience with reconciliations, closing processes, and journal entries.

• Proficient in working with a mid-to-large ERP system.

• Capability to create or improve accounting tools using Excel (macros, formulas, templates, Power Query, etc.).

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, demonstrating a keen attention to detail.

• Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate across various departments.

• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
