Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Nevada.

📋 Description

• Accurately and promptly record transactional activities in the general ledger.

• Assess and implement internal controls to ensure effective operational processes.

• Deliver essential financial data reporting, ensuring all ad-hoc and routine requests are fulfilled in a timely manner with precise information.

• Ensure that accounting records and practices comply with GAAP and MGM Resorts International Operations accounting policies, maintaining consistency across all business units.

• Improve internal customer service by implementing reporting and processing enhancements while upholding a service-oriented approach in all functions.

• Guarantee adherence to all federal, state, and international regulatory standards, including SOX, gaming regulations, minimum internal control standards, IRS regulations, anti-money laundering laws, and internal control requirements.

• Engage in project implementation for systems and/or processes initiated by other departments or the corporate department to ensure requirements are fulfilled and workflows are optimized.

• Lead, communicate, and take responsibility for shared service strategies that provide high-quality, cost-effective, and valuable support services across MGM Resorts International.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.

• A minimum of 1 year of relevant experience in Accounting or Audit.

• Experience in generating financial reports and using them to inform recommendations and decisions based on financial data - Preferred.

• Familiarity with preparing and reviewing general ledger account reconciliations - Preferred.

• Experience in monthly and quarterly financial reporting, including P&L reviews - Preferred.

• Prior knowledge and experience with MGM Resorts International gaming and financial systems (Tandem, CMS, Machine Accounting, CBS, Bravo Poker, XpertX, MGM Rewards, Showcase Strategy, Cognos Finance, Oracle ERP Cloud, Oracle EPM Cloud) - Preferred.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Access, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel).

• Experience collaborating with all management levels, including executives, and consulting with key business stakeholders - Preferred.

• Bilingual proficiency, with English as either the primary or secondary language - Preferred.
