Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in France.

📋 Description

• Daily accounting activities: documenting financial transactions (purchases, sales, bank activities, etc.) and assisting with accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) functions.

• Account reconciliation: guaranteeing precise reconciliation of accounts and accounting records.

• Month-end and year-end closings: aiding in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes; preparing necessary documentation for balance sheets and income statements.

• VAT and tax filing: preparing and submitting tax returns (VAT, income tax, etc.) within statutory timeframes.

• Audit preparation: assisting with internal and external financial audits by supplying required documentation and clarifications.

• Process optimization: suggesting and executing ongoing enhancements to accounting processes and tools to ensure efficiency and compliance.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (DCG, DSCG, Master’s degree, or equivalent).

• 3–5 years of experience in general accounting, ideally within a rapidly expanding company or scale-up. Strong understanding of French accounting standards (PCG).

• Proficiency in French and comfortable communicating in English, both written and verbal.

• Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational capabilities, and robust analytical skills.

• Inquisitive, dependable, eager to learn, and willing to take initiative within a structured environment.

• Experience with accounting software (e.g., Odoo, Pennylane), common office applications (Excel), and proactive use of AI tools.
