This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Optimize the potential of AbbVie’s Anti-Infective product range within the designated territory.
• Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with hospitals, Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs), academic institutions, outpatient facilities, long-term care settings, government agencies, and specialty private practices.
• Enhance patient access, cultivate new business opportunities, expand existing operations, maximize resource use, and meet sales targets for the geography.
• Progress hospital and specialty clients through the sales continuum while securing commitments from prescribers.
• Conduct on-label presentations and sales discussions that emphasize product advantages and associated risks.
• Highlight the unique value proposition of the portfolio to C-suite executives, healthcare providers, hospital personnel, and support teams.
• Resolve product and patient-flow challenges via Specialty Pharmacy, Specialty Distribution, and Buy and Bill channels.
• Align stakeholders across various departments to focus on patient-centered solutions.
• Collaborate with AbbVie teams in the field and at headquarters, including Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs), the National Director of Accounts, and Key Account Directors.
• Develop, implement, and oversee strategic business plans for the geography.
• Identify account-level departments, channels, healthcare professional focus, and frequency of contacts.
• Gather and analyze account data; keep account profiles and relationship maps up to date.
• Target essential stakeholders and decision-makers to broaden physician engagement and the customer base.
• Engage in local boards, societies, conventions, and healthcare professional meetings.
• Represent AbbVie and its products at industry events and relay key insights internally.
• Fulfill required training and adhere to company policies as well as OEC/Legal protocols.
• Comply with HCIR credentialing standards for access to facilities and organizations.
• Work collaboratively across healthcare institutions and cross-functional teams to devise compliant communication strategies.
• A bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant industry experience is required.
• If lacking a bachelor’s degree, a minimum of five (5) years of experience is mandatory, with three (3) or more years preferred in the pharmaceutical, health, or science sectors.
• A high school diploma or GED is required.
• Experience in account-based selling with hospitals, wound care centers, or infusion centers.
• Proven experience in fostering hospital advocacy for acute care products.
• Experience in navigating matrix environments and managing complex clients such as IDNs, academic institutions, hospitals, and outpatient accounts.
• Familiarity with formulary approval processes and driving those approvals.
• Preferred experience with Buy and Bill and specialty pharmacy products.
• Documented track record of strong sales performance in competitive markets or product lines.
• Advanced sales skills and the ability to articulate complex or novel products and processes.
• Capability to work autonomously as an individual contributor within a collaborative setting.
• Strong business acumen, accountability, and ownership of the sales territory.
• Ability to multitask, address challenges, and influence without direct authority.
• Proficiency in prioritizing and managing multiple accounts.
• Analytical skills to assess diverse data sets using various tools and define account/program strategies.
• Exceptional planning, organization, presentation, and facilitation abilities.
• Quick learning of procedural, technical, and clinical information.
• Ability to comprehend and communicate complex scientific information to diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Aptitude for building collaborative partnerships and influencing peers.
• Capability to cover the assigned geographical area thoroughly.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe-driving criteria.
• Willingness to travel as necessary, including overnight training sessions and sales meetings.
• Ability to operate a personal vehicle, company car, or powered material-handling equipment.
• Must meet applicable HCIR credentialing requirements and be in good standing or eligible to obtain credentials, which may involve background checks, drug screenings, proof of immunizations/vaccinations, fingerprinting, and state- or city-specific licenses.
